Life can get hectic at times, and it seems too hard to squeeze any extra time to do something for yourself. Self care is so important for your health and well being. Take a moment to breathe. Here are a few ways.
WATCH YOUR FAVORITE SHOW. Sit down in your comfy chair and binge watch your favorite show. I love to watch a sitcom after a long day.
READ A BOOK. Even if it’s just a chapter, it’s still relaxing to curl on the couch and dive into another time period or foreign city, and forget life for a while.
TEA TIME! Make a pot or cup of hot tea. There’s something about this drink that soothes your soul. Loose leaf or tea bags, whatever you prefer, are both great. If you need a pick-me-up, then go with black, pu-erh or oolong tea. For a little bit of caffeine, then choose white or green tea. Decaf or herbal teas have no caffeine.
BOOK A MASSAGE. Have you ever left a massage parlor and thought how horrible that massage was? That is rarely the case, right? It feels like all of your stress has melted off your body. Plus, it reduces pain, muscle tension and stress.
BE ONE WITH NATURE. Grab a cup of coffee, go to your nearest park, sit on a bench and take in all the sights and sounds of nature. Bird watch or observe that squirrel eating an acorn, or look at the butterfly fluttering around the bed of flowers. Take a deep breath of fresh air and enjoy.
LIE DOWN. Take a small nap or just lie down and listen to relaxing music. Immerse yourself into positive thoughts or the melodious tunes that make you feel relaxed and happy.
We all can slip in a few minutes to do some “me” time. Pencil in a time of day when you think you can do it, and just breathe.
