There are several “new beginnings” throughout the course of the 12 month calendar. Most people choose to overhaul the way they live there lives January 1st. Others may look to restart their goals at the beginning of a school year. However, Spring can often be a time of great renewal! Just as the earth’s fruits experience a rebirth during the spring season, people can too.

The Spring is also a great time to take the goals set in the New Year and  “give it another try.” It is never too late to try again, and it is potentially more ambitious to take it one step at a time.

James Clear, author of Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones says, “When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that last blow that did it—but all that had gone before.”

It is not uncommon for people to set a goal and try to accomplish it overnight, or even try to establish new habits overnight. After a few days or a couple weeks, sheer will power does not always pay out and the individual becomes prone to give up.

But when the victory is experienced in one small step at a time, it is a paradigm shift that often leads to great success.

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.”
