Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week

“THE WORLD IS FULL OF KIND PEOPLE… IF YOU CAN’T FIND ONE, BE ONE”

Everybody can use more kindness in their life, so let’s take Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 14-20, 2021) to kick off a year-long habit of practicing kindness everywhere. Kindness Jar. Decorate a jar and every time you witness an act of kindness, write it down to keep the memory. On the last day of the week, read the memories you’ve collected over the week.

 

Monday, February 15, 2021

Love Note.

Write two letters:

  1. Write a letter to someone who has changed your life for the better – tell them how they have helped you and mail it to them.
  2. Write yourself a letter describing all your strengths, skills, values, behaviors and actions that have gotten you to where you are. Seal it in an envelope and put it somewhere that you’ll find later when you really need to hear those words.

Blessing Bags

Create a bag of items that somebody displaced will need. Keep it in your car so that you can give it to the next person you see who could use a helping hand.

Items to include: Socks, wet wipes, travel size tissue, chapstick, face mask(s), travel toothbrush & toothpaste, pads/tampons, small first aid kit, hat, gloves, protein bars, instant oatmeal packets, ready-to-eat cans w/ tab open lids. Place items in a large plastic gallon bag that zips closed or find a plastic water bottle to put items in.

Don’t forget to make eye contact and smile as human connection helps us all remember to Explore the Good and help Make Kindness the Norm. A few things to consider: please do not throw from your car, and always go with someone else when delivering.
