We’ve all had that moment where we had to cram for a test that we forgot about. That 10 minute rush of trying to memorize all the facts just to get through the test. However, working on understanding the material will have a greater impact long-term.
When you memorize, your brain is only trying to retain the information for a small window of time. But, when you understand the material – to the point that we could teach it to somebody else – you are able to utilize that information for days, weeks, months and years to come. Take the time this year to understand the material by reviewing notes on a daily basis and studying a little every day until all the material makes sense to you.
