As we head into a new year, many people come up with their New Year’s Resolution. Statistically, resolutions last 12 days. Yes, you read that correctly. TWELVE DAYS. By January 12th most people have given up on their resolution.

This year we challenge you to take your goals a step further. Rather than set a resolution – set your intentions and create actionable tasks to achieve this intention. Let’s get started:

Step 1: Choose One Word
Pick one word that describes what you want to achieve for 2020. For example, a few years ago a clients’ word was ‘intentional’. Everything that she did for the year was based around this one word.

Step 2: Build Your Life Around Your Word
Once you’ve chosen your word, put the word somewhere where you will see it on a daily basis. Put it on the wall in your bathroom or next to your bed. Everyday remind yourself to be (insert your word here). Make this a reflection of your actions throughout the day. Going back to our example of “Intentional”, the client made it to point to be ‘intentional’ with her time. Unplugging from the television, engaging in conversation and focusing on her studies in order to achieve her ultimate goals; achieve good grades and quality time with the people she cared about.

That’s it! What word will best reflect your intentions for the year?
